Interview basics
To assess applicants beyond their applications, you can use video interviews. Interviews can be helpful if you want to:
- Evaluate communication skills
- Assess problem-solving abilities
- Review task performance without use of AI or chatbots
- Determine overall applicant suitability
In DreamApply, interviews are governed by scenarios. A scenario defines:
- The list of questions an applicant must answer
- The number of attempts allowed
- Deadline, reminders and other related settings
When an applicant is invited to an interview, DreamApply automatically links their application to the interview and sends a message with a link to the interview to the applicant. The applicant can access the interview through the link, complete and submit responses within the defined deadlines.
Once the applicant completes the interview, the system securely stores the session recordings for review. Administrators can then watch the recorded sessions to assess responses, compare candidates and make informed admission decisions.
Interview deadlines
To provide a timeframe for the interview, you can set up deadlines and reminders in the interview scenario.
The interview deadline defines how many days applicants have to complete the interview. The deadline is calculated from the time the invitation is sent. You can also configure reminders to notify applicants before the deadline and ensure they complete the interview on time.
The Deadline setting is optional. You can leave it empty to let applicants complete the interview at any time.
If you need to provide more time for applicants, you can extend the interview deadline.
- For all applicants: You can update the deadline in the interview scenario. This change affects all applications linked to the interview that uses this scenario.
- For single applicants: You can delete an interview and send a new invitation to the applicant.
