How data transfer works

To integrate DreamApply with ESSE3, an institution must collaborate with DreamApply and Cineca.

Data transfer between DreamApply and ESSE3 is an ongoing process that includes the following stages:

Data transfer: ESSE3 periodically polls DreamApply to fetch a list of new applications in the DreamApply portal. For each new application, ESSE3 fetches essential information, including applicant personal details, uploaded documents, applied programmes and the application ID. The retrieved data is stored in the ESSE3 platform.

To enable data transfer between DreamApply and ESSE3, perform the following tasks:

Request the ESSE3 add-on
Map programme data
Indicate documents to be transferred
Implement data retrieval
Customize the welcome email template

Request the ESSE add-on

The ESSE3 integration functionality is available as an add-on provided at no charge. To activate the add-on and properly set up your DreamApply instance, contact the DreamApply team.

DreamApply offers two methods to send activation requests to ESSE3:

Automatic: DreamApply automatically triggers activation requests when specific events occur.
Manual: For more granular control, you can manually send activation requests for specific applications to ESSE3.

Send requests automatically

You can set up DreamApply to automatically send activation requests to ESSE when specific events occur in DreamApply.

In the main menu, under Automation, select Rules.
Below the rules list, click New rule and specify the rule name.
In the Trigger events section, select check boxes next to events that must trigger activation requests.
In the Action section, select the Send this application to be activated in Esse3 check box.
At the top of the form, click Save changes.

Send requests manually

You can review applications in DreamApply and manually send activation requests to ESSE3.
